FRICTION RESEARCH / EDITORIAL CONTROL

Useful before promotional.
Sourced before published.

Version 1.0 / Effective 21 July 2026

WHY THIS EXISTS

Trust is an operating requirement.

Friction writes about systems that can affect money, work, personal data, and business decisions. Search visibility does not justify weak claims. Our standard is designed to make every article understandable to an operator and traceable to the material that supports it.

01

Primary evidence

Deadlines, thresholds, legal duties, statistics, and quotations must link to the responsible authority or original publication.

02

Source status

Every source is identified as legislation, regulation, guideline, policy, consultation, technical documentation, or announcement. Guidance is not presented as legislation.

03

Original analysis

Friction paraphrases and adds operational analysis. Publisher articles, charts, photography, and substantial passages are not reproduced without permission or a suitable licence.

04

Image rights

Only Friction-owned, commissioned, Pexels, Unsplash, or verified Creative Commons media is used. The creator, source page, and licence are recorded.

05

Human review

Legal, financial, enforcement, breach, allegation, and named-person material requires human verification before publication.

06

Corrections

A material correction changes the visible updated date and is recorded in the article. Cosmetic date changes are not used to manufacture freshness.

STATUS LABELS

We distinguish what a source is.

IMAGE AND NEWS RIGHTS

We cite the news.
We license the image separately.

Friction does not lift photography from Malaysian news publishers. Current events link to the official release or original reporting, while the visual comes from a separately licensed source with a visible credit.Malaysia Copyright Act resources / MyIPO
